COMBINATIONS is a convergence. Five artists will inhabit the basement of Paço das Artes in São Paulo for six hours on Saturday 4 October. Five singular actions—linked by ritual, duration, physicality, and endurance—will simultaneously unfold. Sight lines may cross, sounds will fuse, and bodies very well might collide. The public is invited to rove through the day, with attention and resistance as guides.
Artist Paula Garcia (BR/USA) and writer Corrine Fitzpatrick (USA) have invited artists Luísa Nóbrega, Lynsey Peisinger, MPA, Malin Arnell, and Maurício Ianês to realize long-duration performance works on the occasion of PerformaPaço 2014. Working with lighting designer Aline Santini (SP), the participants will create a six-hour-long unique occasion wherein the sum of all parts may create an unexpected and in-the-moment score.
